A Hungarian camerawoman has reportedly been sacked after videos emerged online that appear to show her tripping and kicking refugees as they run from Hungarian police.
Petra Laszlo, working for local TV station N1TV, was caught on camera kicking and tripping refugees, including a young girl, who were fleeing a camp.
When the refugees tried to escape police officers at a Hungarian camp on Tuesday, Laszlo decided to get involved. Though, she was filming a father, holding a child in his arms, she tripped both of them.
The video was shared on social media after it was posted by German reporter Stephan Richter on Twitter, with many condemning and criticizing Laszlo's behavior.
Twitter has been quick to condemn the video journalist for her behaviour and called for N1TV to apologise for her actions. According to the Post, some on the social media site have used the incident to back claims that Hungarian journalists and media outlets are backing Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Thousands took to a Facebook "shame wall" to denounce her inhuman action.
Hungary has made desperate efforts to control the huge inflow of migrants transiting the country as they try to reach Germany, leaving many trapped for days outside Roszke and angry at their treatment by Hungarian authorities.
